SUBSTITUTES: Assist in providing developmentally appropriate classroom experiences under the supervision of the Head Teacher or Assistant Teacher. Able to follow the teacher’s directions for working in the classroom. Help supervise the children as they play inside and out on the playground. Maintain agency confidentiality policy. Model appropriate behavior by acting professionally with parents, children and staff.  HS Diploma or equivalent is required.


TEACHER/ CAREGIVERS:  Provide a quality education experience for infants and toddlers; as well as make home visits.  Experience working with young children.  Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood with course work in infant/toddler development or related field or an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with course work in infant/toddler development. 

CENTER DIRECTOR (Immediate): This critical center manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation and supervision of Head Start, Head Teachers and Early Head Start Lead Caregivers. This manager, a key member of the education team, provides leadership and inspiration to staff, families and members of the community. The incumbent oversees operational activities to ensure compliance with state and federal licensing and regulatory agencies, as well as, continued funding. Working within a team ensuring center staff meet training requirements and professional goals; orients new employees; facilitates center meetings, is an active program ambassador welcoming and engaging families.

HEALTH & NUTRITION SERVICES MANAGER:   Responsible for managing health and nutrition service areas for early childhood programs. Duties to include: establishing linkage to health care providers, maintaining records and ensuring compliance with USDA, federal and state regulations pertaining to Head Start and NYS daycare licensing.  Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in health related field required.  Health services background and experience in public health, health education or health administration preferred. RN with administrative experience also acceptable.
